How to Prepare Gourmet Mushrooms

Gourmet mushrooms is a great addition to any dish and can really take the flavor to the next level. Whether it is the star or just a flavor enhancer, sometimes its hard to tell what is the best way to prepare the different mushroom varieties. Here are some of our favorite ways to prepare different mushrooms. 

1. The most common way to prepare most mushrooms is by sautéing them. Heat your desired fat in a pan i.e. butter, cooking oil, etc. Add mushroom to medium heat and leave uncovered. Cook until mushroom is tender and add your desired seasoning. This method works really well with oyster and lions mane mushrooms. 

2. Have you tried baking mushrooms? This works really well with shiitake mushrooms. Start by removing the stem and coating the tops in olive oil and desired seasoning. Heat the oven to 350 degrees and place mushrooms on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until mushrooms are crispy. Let them cool and then enjoy. 

3. Make mushrooms the center piece by stuffing them. Start by heating a pan with olive oil. add garlic and the stems of the mushroom. Cook until mushroom stems are tender and garlic has browned. 

Once the stems and garlic have cooled, add cream cheese, spices, and cheese and mix well. Add to the mushroom heads and bake for 20 minutes.
